I’m sitting here listening to Kilo’s “Do You Hear What I Hear”….the anthem for Atlanta natives my age….
I’m a 24 year old Black Man today….and I have to take the time to thank God, his son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit within me for being able to make it this far….many, many, many Black Men who were born around the time I was are already in the ground….I’m not only still breathing, I’m living my dream (even as I complain about it’s difficulty)….that’s a blessing!!
I’ve talked to my mom and dad….my two sisters….and my cousin Radiance….
My first official birthday wish came from Tasha….My first call came at 3:04 cst from Tren….Radiance was my first family member to call….while I was sleeping I got AIM messages from Kitty, Chris, and Herb….lots of people wished me pre-emptive birthdays as well….and then I come here and see birthday wishes from The OJ (I’m a day older…HA!) and Sha’Ron….thanks to all of you!
The homie Geoff called and we are on a mission….it’s memorial day and the both of us are more broke than that big TV with no knobs that my dad’s TV is sitting on at our house….
We NEED a barbeque to crash and somebody’s free liquor to guzzle….I have a back-up plan….I think Denny’s still offer’s a free birthday meal to people so if all else fails I’ll go there and then go get some Kiwi-Lime MD 20/20 (I’m kidding about the Mad Dog)….
I’m 24 years old….23 started off rocky and ended up good….Joe told me that 24 was a very good year for him….I hope I have a Sinatra like “Very Good Year” at 24 as well….
