Another Movie I Should Have Seen A Long Time Ago….

I don’t know about anyone else, but there are some movies out there that are good, I mean really enjoyable, that I just cannot make it through in one sitting. I might hit a slow part and get lulled to sleep although I was really enjoying it to that point. Or maybe I will just catch it too late, or right before a planned nap (yes I plan to take naps during the day, and nothing short of an emergency can keep me from it).

At any rate, From Dusk Til’ Dawn was one of those types of movies for me. The first time I watched it I made it to when they got to the hotel room and Seth (George Clooney…in the best role I’ve seen him play….better than Danny Ocean in Ocean’s Eleven) left Richie (Quentin Tarantino….who didn’t overact!!!) in the hotel room with the lady. The next time I tried to watch it, I got to where they meet up with Jacob (Harvey Keitel) and his family.

This morning I couldn’t sleep so I turned to HBO to see if I could maybe catch a good movie or at least Biker Boyz and lo and behold it’s on the part IMMEDIATELY after the last part i could remember from my last viewing.

So I ended up catching the whole thing. For awhile I was wondering, okay, when are the vampires coming. And I heard the classic monologue about the different types of pussy for sale. The dialogue was good, but not what I have come to expect from Tarantino films.

Overall I say the movie lived up to much of the hype, but it wasn’t all that. Perhaps if I had seen it in the theater I’d have a different opinion of it, but for what it’s worth now i’d give it three stars out of five.

    i agree.
    j lo can’t even scrub hayek’s dog’s feet.
miles, you tripping. imagine seeing “from dusk” in it’s prime, when you were still a youngster before really knowing who quentin t. (can’t spell his last name) was. and cheech (or chong, whichever it was) making his comeback. it’s like listening to old P. you realize now his lyrics were garbage (case in point, swamp niggas) but the song takes you back to a certain place in time and you get nostalgic for that time, and that’s what makes that song tight now. hell, lil’ romeo got better lyrics than P (and i don’t necessarily know if that’s a compliment to romeo, but it’s definitely a diss on P’s lyrics), but swamp niggas is still tight though.

and, clooney’s part in “from dusk” wasn’t tighter than his part in “the peacemaker”. nah, but for real he was tight in “out of sight”.

so in closing, i forgot my point (exactly).

    2 things about this movie.
When i saw it… i was forced to go see it by my uncle. i had saw NO previews. i didnt know what it was about, nor who was in the muthafucka. It was fuckin great! it is the reason why i wont watch previews of movies i really wanna see till this day…. i will put the tv on mute or leave the room or turn my head… or something. i over enjoyed this movie. i didnt know what to expect at all. i loved every second of dusk till dawn. its one of my favorite movies till this day. but i ALWAYS forget that Q did it.

The second thing about this movie. The day i saw it marked a changing point in my life. if you can go back and figure out when this movie came out ( i saw it the day before it came out ). But yea… ive been messing with dimes every since this day. and really havent looked back since. There have been a couple of drop offs every here and there. but it was a great day for me indeed. i got to mess with one of the FINEST girls in the neighborhood in the back of my uncles diesel ON THE WAY to see this movie. good nite for me indeed!
