Ahhhhh….I look back at the days before my birthday and laugh now….things came together magnificently….

I want to thank everyone that IMed me and sent me cards and what not (too many to name individually….but you know who you are)….ya’ll made my day for real (especially Dani )….

So Geoff came by, and initially we had NO luck finding a BBQ to crash….so he decided, what the hell, lets put together one of our own….a few phone calls were put in….we stopped by Toney’s to get a grill, went to the grocery store to pick up chicken and other BBQ stuff, and went to the Beer Store and got lots of beer….

I had never BBQ’d before, but I seasoned the chicken nicely (in my humble opinion)…..Amanda brought some beans and some tequila….and we set up shop out in the ampitheater at Meharry….no permit, no permission….it was a rogue affair….

Slowly but surely people started showing up….we had gathered a nice little crowd by the time all was said and done….

I was struggling on the grill for awhile….but between Toney, Jamil, and Kim’s friend Mark things were straight….there was PLENTY to eat….

Then Heather came by with a cake that spoke for itself reading “Happy Killa Cal Day!”…..

I had my little boombox out there with plenty of CD’s from 1996-2000….all in all we had a really fun night….

Today the fun continues….it’s Andrea aka Drea’s 19th 22nd birthday today….I’m so proud of her….she managed to fit a graduation from Xavier University into her first year at Meharry….she’s so brilliant, not to mention pretty!

We are headed back to our favorite spot, Bailey’s Downtown to celebrate along with the second year students who just took a mock Step 1 exam (the first of three licensing tests for Doctors)….

Also a shout out to the dude that put this page together….my internet road dog….my homie The OJ…..who happens to be a whole day younger than me (you knew I was gonna put that in there!)…..
