Eff An Agenda

Yeah, yeah, so what…I was supposed to write about the wack ass summer of 1993….in due time homie, in due time….I honestly tried to sit down yesterday and write about it, and for the first time EVER the words just wouldn’t come together….it wasn’t all that bad a summer actually….just boring and dumb and it was all my fault….anyway I’ll try again to write about it Sunday night or something….

I FINALLY got a haircut yesterday….I need to make more of an effort to not go more than two weeks between haircuts, I don’t know what my problem is….actually I do….I never really had consistant haircuts growing up….my mom would take me when she felt like it….I guess she liked me having alot of hair….

*sigh*Yesterday I also had my most bitter and humiliating defeat at the hands of the homie Geoff in Madden 2004….let me give some background….in all the time of playing Madden with this guy I’ve never defeated him….so when I started the game with a kickoff return for a touchdown and then on his second play returned an interception for a touchdown….then forcing him to fumble and getting a fieldgoal from that….I JUST KNEW that for the first time I was going to defeat him!….I mean I had Mike Vick and Peerless Price….but then he scored….and I got scared….then I returned ANOTHER kickoff for a touchdown….and I got ANOTHER interception….and I connected with Peerless Price for a touchdown….but then in the second quarter things started to turn around….Needless to say I pulled a Houston Oilers in 1992-esque choke and lost the game 48-45….I should be banned from Madden….there is NOTHING I can do to beat that guy….

I did manage to redeem myself later on that night….we headed to a spot called Sam’s in Bellevue to help the homie Heather (aka H to the Izzo) celebrate the fact that she took her Step 1 exam….they have this trivia game that I used to play at the TGIFridays on Elliston….When we came in it was a “Battle of the Sexes” trivia game….I don’t even need to tell you that the Males RAN AWAY with it….and the top scorer?….of course the Killa Cal….all in all I did relly well finishing as the top scorer 3 times….including my demolition in the last round where I led pretty much wire to wire….props to Julie, Geoff, Julian, and Heather (who had her brain fried from taking her test) for giving me some comp….but I am the king!….I’m a poor winner I know, but it’s like one of the only things I’m good at….let me have that people!!

And now….on Saturday Morning…I present the Friday Five, which I am sorta of lackluster on….

1. Are you going to school this year? Yes, Meharry still owns me for another year….

2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate? See the answer to the above….and I’m a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta with a degree in Chemistry and also Westlake High School in Southwest Atlanta with a magnet seal….

3. What are/were your favorite school subjects? My favorite subject right now is Pathology it really ties everything together….back in the day it was General Chemistry

4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects? My least liked subject right now is Microbiology/Immunology….it’s too much minutia and theory….just give me the effing T and B cell count and my complete blood count and let’s call it a day!

5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite? I’ve had a favorite at each level….in Elementary School it was my fifth grade teacher Mrs Miller (with honorable mention to Ms Jones in 4th grade). She was no-nonsense, but she also had a fun side….one time she ran with us and everything….she was just really cool….in Middle School (which was HELL for me) my favorite teacher was Mrs Menefee, you could tell that she really cared about everyone in her class….she was really genuine….in High School it was Mr. Cobb who taught me Honors Physical Science and Honors Biology….he was the first teacher to really challenge me….he had high expectations for everyone in the class….also Miss Sy (AP Physics) was kind of great too…she was the most excited teacher I ever had and she was REALLY good at teaching a pretty difficult subject to grasp….I never got anything less than an A in any Physics class after that and I credit her! At Morehouse it was Dr. Usher my history teacher….once again he pushed me to really give it my all….and he really helped me understand alot more about the History of Black Americans and Africans….there is alot of misinformation out there….at Meharry so far Dr. Atta in Biochemistry has been my favorite professor….he makes a really difficult subject pretty easy to understand and he’s really enthusiastic about what he does….

damn that was a long response….I guess I did like this Friday Five after all….
