I don’t have kids. I have a god son that I dote upon but that’s about as far as it goes for the Killa. That said, I live in the heart of Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus-ville a.k.a. Nashville, where scalped tickets to her concert cost as much as a semester at Vandy. So to me it’s not a surprise when she is one of the lead stories on the news. When she’s even THINKING about having a concert WSMV is all over it.

So the other morning when I woke up out of my usual morning haze and heard about some type of Hannah Montana controversy I didn’t pay it much mind. But they kept going and kept going and kept talking about it and kept talking about it. Okay fine, I used to be a card carrying member of the media and as such know how they do nowadays.

What kills me though, is that they are going on and on and on about how damaging it could be to kids that she’s posing this way in Vanity Fair and how it’s not a good look and how she shouldn’t be posing on the internet this way and that way and the third…..BUT THEY KEPT SHOWING THE DAMNED PICTURES!!

Now I’m not a big Vanity Fair reader, I own exactly ONE copy and that was because my Honda Ad was featured in it.

I don’t imagine too many of her fans read Vanity Fair either. I can see a 13 year old boy or two picking it up in the same vein as George Costanza reading his mother’s Vogue magazines, if you know what I mean, but then again these guys probably already have their own Hannah fantasies they’ve been working on for awhile!

My point is, the very shows railing against how awful it was that she posed in these Brooke Shields like provacative poses are the ones SHOWING IT EVERY 5 seconds. Most kids would NEVER know about it otherwise. This was driving me crazy this morning!

The moral of the story is, parents if you don’t want your kids seeing Hannah Montana pose like a normal teenage hussy, don’t let them watch the Today Show!
