The Finest Girl In The World

Every school had one. The girl who all the guys wanted to have just ONE chance with. The girl who had legends made up about her. The girl who was just too fine to be true. Well I saw her today.

This chick was the finest girl at Westlake, in my opinion (and most other guys), when I got there. She was in my older cousin Bryan’s class, 2 years older than me. I spent many a day in class daydreaming about me and her getting married. She was not only the finest girl in the school, she was really cool too, and smart! She was in the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program with me. Our TAG program allowed us to take off from a period of class and go do some activities with the other TAG students. I have to admit there were many times when I’d find out that she was going to be in there and I’d try and get a pass to go in hopes that she’d notice me.

Somehow or another after I graduated and had gone beyond the halls of Westlake, old girl and my sister Nina became friends (I don’t really get it because Nina is like 5 years younger than her…but whatever). One day I was at home and she stopped by. It was a huge surprise.

Anyway I was at my new favorite fast food spot, Moe’s Southwestern Grill, when my mom was like, “Isn’t that *girl’s name*” and I’m like, “I don’t know!”. So she goes up and taps her and sho nuff it’s her. She was with her mother and her brother’s wife and her twin daughters (who were ADORABLE). We chopped it up for a second with them and left, but the whole time I was thinking back on how fine she still was.

It got me to thinking about all of the “finest girl in the school/class” type girls and where they are right now. How many of them are happily married (or “Desperate Housewives”)? How many of them knew just how much I (and other dudes) were jocking them? Did it go to their heads?

At any rate seeing her made my day and I had to share it.

Man, we all have had that - the finest girl in school, you get excited just thinking you’ll get a chance to see her.
She wins even when she’s not trying to.
It gets worse when she’s smart too….
