The Lift Hill

Roller Coasters are one of my favorite things in life. I can’t believe that looking back on my life there was a time where I was AFRAID of even getting on them. They bring me so much pleasure now.

For some people it’s the ups and downs, the twists and turns, the loops that thrill them. For me the most thrilling part, the part that absolutely TERRIFIES me, is the lift hill.

Yeah you read that right. The lift hill is when I close my eyes and when my heart pounds and when I’m the most anxious. As I climb higher and higher, I think, what if the coaster gets stuck ALMOST at the top of the hill and I never get to experience the rest of the ride and I’m stuck up here all day and god forbid the workers have to climb all 123424texas232 of these steps and manually get me off.

As I get strapped in and they give the all clear to send us out of the station, that’s when my heart starts pounding because that’s when I relinquish control. And then it’s up, up, and away.

And when I finally come off of the lift hill, I enjoy the rest of the ride completely, balls to the wall. I let loose totally because there is no more anxiety, just the fun and wind racing into my face.

Then I end back up in the station house, if I like the ride enough I’ll get back on for another adventure, if it gave me a headache I’ll move on, but at least I can say I experienced it. And on and on it goes, but ultimately I’m in search of the perfect roller coaster, the one I could ride again and again above all others. One that isn’t SO far like the Millennium Force or X at Magic Mountain. No, one a little closer to home like the Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia. I mean I guess I could move to Ohio or to California eventually, but not for a ride you know?

I mean at this point, I’m not in a position to travel and live life like that riding every coaster in the country, but when I can, I do you know?….if only I can get past that lift hill.

Roller Coasters are alot like love…..

I got on that damn Goliath a few weeks ago at six flags over GA. And at the top of that bia you could see all over GA. Anxiety for me is a bad thing. For you it seems good. Thats why you will continue to ride and find pleasure. That is why I will eventually die on one.

I got on that damn Goliath at six flags and saw all of the eastern Unites States. Never again. Anxiety is bad for me. It seems good for you. That is why you continue to ride and that is why I will eventually die on one.
